Castle Hill Removals

Areas / the acreage edge

Removalists in Glenhaven & Dural

Ten minutes north of Castle Hill the blocks stretch out: Glenhaven's leafy near-acreage, then Dural's genuine semi-rural country on the highest ground in our catchment, just over 200 metres up.

What acreage changes about a move

The house is only half the site read out here. The other half is everything between the front door and where a truck can actually stand.

  • The driveway. Long, sometimes gravel, sometimes gated. We check truck clearance and turning before the day; when the big truck cannot get close, we plan the carry honestly rather than discovering it at 8am.
  • The sheds. A Dural property often holds a workshop, a hay shed or a stable's worth of gear. It belongs in the sizing from the start; it is the acreage version of the double garage.
  • The outdoor life. Ride-on mowers, trailers of pots, outdoor furniture for a verandah that wraps the house. Bulky, heavy, and happiest loaded early in the stack.

Most Glenhaven and Dural family moves size straight into the full-house crew: 4 movers + 2 trucks at $500/hr, because the load is genuinely large and the carry is genuinely long. When a property is lighter than it looks, we say so and send the smaller crew; the sizing is honest in both directions.

Two suburbs, two reads

Glenhaven sits close, about three kilometres from Castle Hill's centre, and its housing is nearly all houses on big blocks: over 85 per cent of dwellings are houses, many on half-acre gardens under mature trees. Expect branch clearance over driveways and long lawn carries.

Dural is the true edge: five kilometres out, the highest ground we work, and a real mix of acreage homes, nurseries and newer infill. Gates, dams and unsealed drives are normal, and we ask about all three in the quote.

Asked out here

Can trucks get up a gravel driveway?

Usually, and we confirm before the day rather than guess: grade, surface and overhead branches decide it. Where the answer is no, the honest plan is a shorter shuttle with a smaller vehicle or a longer carry, budgeted into the hours up front.

Do you move workshop machinery and shed contents?

Yes, within a removal crew's safe limits: benches, tool chests, racking and garden machinery are routine. Genuinely industrial items (a lathe, a car hoist) need specialist rigging, and we will tell you straight if something is past our line.

The site read comes first

On acreage, the difference between a good moving day and a long one is decided before the truck leaves the depot: where it stands, how far the crew carries, and what is in the shed. We do that reading in the quote, not on your clock.
